actress PAT PATERSON (1910-1978) appeared in over 20 movies between 1931
and 1939. She had mostly supporting roles in British films before her
Hollywood debut opposite Spencer Tracy in Bottoms Up (1934). She
played the endangered heroine of Charlie Chan in Egypt (1935). During
World War II, she devoted herself to the war effort, and made no further films.
She was married to actor Charles Boyer from 1934 until her death from cancer in
1978. Boyer committed suicide two days after her death. Their only son, Michael
Boyer, had shot himself dead playing Russian roulette on his 21st birthday. From
the album collection of child actor BILLY SEAY (1922-2012), who appeared
in many films throughout the decade including The Greater Glory
(1926), My Man (1928), and The Marriage Playground
(1929). Seay would leave Hollywood in the early 1930s to become a noted
artist and illustrator. Toned. Stains throughout. Binding hole in top margin.
