PAT SAJAK
Sajak signs honoring America's Libraries
First Day Cover signed: "Pat Sajak", 6½x3½. FDC honoring America's Libraries Legacies To Mankind, 20-cent stamp affixed, postmarked Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, July 13, 1982, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Television and radio personality Pat Sajak (born 1946) spent time in Saigon broadcasting for Armed Forces Radio. After his discharge, he moved from radio into television, eventually becoming a weatherman at KNBC in Los Angeles. Sajak began hosting a daytime version of Wheel of Fortune in 1981 - together with Vann White, more than 5000 tapings have been aired. Throughout the 1990s, the quiz show, created by Merv Griffin, was TV's top-rated evening game show. From 1989-1990 he hosted his own short-lived late-night program, The Pat Sajak Show. In 1969 a Sesame Street Muppet was created in his image and named Pat Playjacks - the nicest game show host. Lightly worn at edges and corners. Ink spots on verso evident near signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
