Speir (1917-2002), better known as Pat, began his adult life as a teacher. At just 23 years old, he was named principal of Harmony High School. Just one month before Pearl Harbor, he got his first job with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. After the war, he returned to the DPS. In 1968, he was named director of the agency, a position he served in for 11 years. Fine condition.
