Typed Letter Signed: "Patrick J. Hurley" as Hoover's Secretary of War, 1p, 5¼x6½. [Washington], 1932 November 30. To Mr. S. Sawamura, 551 Fifth Avenue, New York City. In full: "Thank you sincerely for your kind letter of the twenty-fourth instant. It is heartening to receive such a splendid commendation. I appreciate your thought in writing me. With kind regards and best wishes, I am, Sincerely yours," President Hoover had lost his bid for reelection three weeks earlier. Hurley was Hoover's Secretary of War from 1929-1933. Paper clip rust stain at upper left margin, else fine condition.
