PATSY KELLY, the talented Broadway star, dancer, and comedienne, began her
movie career in 1933, when Hal Roach brought her to Hollywood to replace Zasu
Pitts in a series of two-reel comedies. She was usually cast as the
wise-cracking friend of the film's heroine, and appeared in a number of comedies
and musicals before retiring from films in the early 1940's. In 1960, Kelly
returned to the screen in minor roles in films including Please Don't Eat the
Daisies and The Crowded Sky in 1960, and Rosemary's Baby
(1968). In 1971, Kelly made a triumphal return to Broadway in a revival of
No No Nanette, winning a Tony Award for her performance in the play,
which also featured her childhood friend, Ruby Keeler. Creased in blank
margins and corners, tack holes in blank margin, else fine
