PATTI DAVIS
Photo of Davis while playing the guitar singing into the microphone
Photograph signed: "Best Wishes/Patti Davis". B/w, 8x10 overall, image 7½x8¾ (one surface). Patti Ann Davis Reagan, the daughter of former President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Davis Reagan, had been known for her rebellion against her parents' conservative values, a rebellion that included living with a member of the Eagles (for whom she wrote a song, "I Wish You Peace", in the 1970s), posing for a "Playboy" centerfold and participating in anti-war rallies. Davis, who appeared in several feature films, including Raising the Roof (1970), Curse of the Pink Panther (1983) and Tango & Cash (1989), two TV series, The Edge of Night and Rituals, and made guest appearances on several TV shows, such as The Love Boat (1979) and Simon & Simon (1983, 1985), later began a literary career. She has penned five volumes, including the autobiographical novel, A House of Secrets (1986), and The Long Goodbye (2004), a book based on her journals written during her father's long struggle with Alzheimer's. Davis, who had reconciled with her parents after her father announced that he was afflicted with the disease, gave one of the eulogies at Reagan's funeral on June 11, 2004 and continues to speak out, along with her brother, Ron, in support of stem cell research. Minor surface creases and scratches (most not evident head on). Black mark at upper left blank margin. Overall, fine condition.
