PATTY THOMAS
Extra-rare inscribed and signed photo, leaning against a column in black leotard
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Mr. Hoaglin -/My very best/wishes to you/Sincerely/Patty Thomas". B/w, 8x10. Dancer Patty Thomas appeared in several films, including Smooth Sailing (1947), but her proudest successes may have come on USO tours with Bob Hope during World War II. (The Library of Congress website features an interview with Thomas about her USO tours, and a photo of her in the cockpit of a P-38.) After the war she toured with dance orchestras, including that of Ted Fio Rito, and appeared with Hope on television. Her reminiscences about the wartime tours are featured on the 1995 documentary film, Bob Hope: Memories of World War II. Lightly creased at corners. Fine condition.
