Signatures: "Paul B Dickey 07" and on verso "Paul Morton", 4x1 slip of paper. American writer, director and producer PAUL B. DICKEY (1882-1933) was born in Chicago, Illinois. He had a successful run on Broadway for over twenty years. Performing early in his career in shows like Pierre of the Plains (1908), he wrote eight plays, directed two (Rose-Marie, 1927. Yours Truly, 1927) and produced and staged four others. Dickey adapted several of his plays into films, his 1913 play The Misleading Lady, was made into the silent The Misleading Lady (1920) and talkie The Misleading Lady (1932). Other stage to film adaptations include, The Broken Wing (1923) and The Ghost Breakers (1940) and he wrote two Hollywood films Tin Gods (1926) and Estrellados (1930). Stage actor PAUL MORTON performed in five Broadway shows between 1905 and 1935. He made his debut at the West End Theatre in Breaking Into Society (1905-1906) and made his final performance in Strip Girl (1935). Irregularly cut at edges. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
