In full: "On my return to New-York yesterday, I found your very kind letter waiting for me-I will be very happy to stay at the Technology Club and I thank you and the House Committee for your very kind invitation. Will you kindly thank the House Committee for me. The title of the lecture 'The great Equatorial African forest, Among the Gorillas, cannibals and Pygmies & dwarfs' I will bring with me about fifty slides. November 11th is agreeable to me. If convenient I may remain at the Club two or three days. Thanking you for your kind letter." In a postscript, he adds: "PS I should feel obliged if you would send to the Press a few invitations for my lecture."
