The English stage and screen actor signs his name in black ink
Signature: "Paul Cavanagh" in black ink. 5x3 index card. Paul Cavanagh (1888-1964), a Cambridge educated barrister and a veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounties and of World War I, turn to acting in the late 1920s, often cast as the quintessential Englishman. He starred on Broadway in Scotland Yard (1929). He appeared in over 100 films, playing Mae West's beau in Goin' to Town (1935) and Joan Crawford's older husband in Humoresque (1947). He appeared in several of the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movies in the mid-1940s, and appeared in many US television series in the 1950s. Toned and slightly soiled Creased throughout. Mounting stains on verso. Ink notes on verso in unknown hand. Otherwise, fine condition.
