PAUL D. BOYER
Signed 4x6 black and white publicity photograph of the Nobel Prize-winning (1997) biochemist wearing a suit and tie.
Photograph signed: "Paul D. Boyer". B/w, 4x6. A biochemist at UCLA, Boyer (b. 1918) was co-recipient with British scientist John E. Walker of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for elucidation of the enzymatic mechanism underlying the synthesis of adenosine tryphosphate (ATP)." This is the process by which molecules transmute light, air, water and food into energy. His research was once so controversial that the leading journal in his field declined to publish it, but Boyer's ideas have since been convincingly confirmed. Fine condition.
