(1968). Paul Dixon (1918-1975) began his broadcast career as a news
reporter in New York and Chicago, but made Cincinnati his home town from 1945.
Initially an award-winning newscaster, he shifted to entertainment with
The Paul Dixon Show, originally carried on the Dumont TV network
(1951-1955) but carried on in Cincinnati until his death in 1974. Expanded to 90
minutes, the show relied heavily on Dixon's off-beat sense of humor. David
Letterman cites Dixon as a major influence. Toned. Edges lightly
