Sale Price $216.00
Studio photo in formal attire, inscribed in person to collector Saul Goodman
Inscribed Photograph signed: "To Saul/Very sincerely/Paul Draper". B/w, 8x10. Collector's ink stamp on verso dates signature: February 3, 1938. Paul Draper (1909-1996) was an American tap dancer and choreographer who introduced many new techniques to the art form. His unique style, sometimes called ballet-tap, also incorporated folk dances and diverse music, including classical music. He often performed with harmonica player Larry Adler. Draper was also an influential dance teacher. He can be seen in the 1948 film Time of Your Life. Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued his love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many celebrities. While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Adhesive residue on verso. Lightly creased. Light surface scratches (barely visible head on). Signature lightly beaded. Otherwise, fine condition.
