PAUL HENNING. Typed Letter signed: "Paul Henning", 1p,
7x10½. Toluca Lake, California, 1988 September 22. On personal letterhead
to William Stanhope, Albu1querque, New Mexico. In full: "I'm afraid
your self-addressed, stamped envelope got sealed up before I saw your request
for picture. I'm enclosing snapshot taken recently out in the backyard by an old
waterwheel. [Item not included.] My daughter and I spent a week in the
Colorado mountains around the middle of this month and she took some pictures.
They haven't been developed yet but if any pictures turn out to be recognizable
I'll send one along to you. We had snow one morning (nine thousand foot
elevation) and she took a shot of me bside our snow-covered rental car. Kindest
regards." Paul Henning (1911-2005) created the popular CBS-TV sitcom
The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971) , writing the words and music
to the well-known theme song. He wrote for and produced other TV
comedies of the 1950s and 1960s, including The Bob Cummings Show and
Petticoat Junction. Fine condition.
