calculate membership dues.
Partial Printed document signed: "Paul Henreid", 1p, 8½x11. No
place, 1972 January 5. Directors Guild of America form for reporting
earnings information to be used to calculate membership dues. Henreid has
filled out the form by printing the following information: [1971 gross
earnings] "15,000-", [estimate of 1972 earnings] "10,000-", [date]
"Jan-5-72", [name & address] is a return address stamp. Born
in Trieste (now in Italy, then in the Austrian empire), Paul Henreid (1908-1992)
was originally cast in supporting roles, often as Germanic villains. After 1940,
when he moved to Hollywood and became a US citizen, Henreid began to get
starring roles. These included Now Voyager (1942) and Of Human
Bondage (1946), but his most famous role was that of resistance leader
Viktor Lazslo, Humphrey Bogart's rival for the affections of Ingrid Bergman in
Casablanca (1942). Henreid could also swashbuckle, as in
Buccaneers (1950). From the 1950s onward, Henreid focused on directing
films (Dead Ringer, 1964) and TV episodes (Alfred Hitchcock
Presents). Ink initials at middle left at stamp, ink note at lower left
