Robinson, M.D.” in blue ink, 1p, 8¼x10¾. No place, 1958 September 12. On Metropolitan Life Insurance Company letterhead. Addressed to “Mr. H. Keith Thompson/ Box 254/ Wall Street Station/ New York 5, New York”. Written to “Dear Mr. Thompson”. In full: “Thank you for your letter of September 5th./ As you know, my entire career was in the Medical Service of the United States Army and while I have had and continue to have a keen interest in military historical problems, I would hesitate, without a great deal more consideration that I can now give to the problem, to endorse a statement concerning wartime trials./ Such matters, as you know, did not fall within my jurisdiction or sphere of influence while I was a member of the active service./ Thank you for your congratulations on my appointment with Metropolitan./ Sincerely”. Paul I. Robinson served as M.C. Chief of the Personnel Division Office of the Surgeon General of the U.S. Army. Signer merits further research. One vertical and one horizontal crease, both centralized and very faint. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
