in blue ink
Autograph Letter Signed: “General P. L. Legentilhomme”. 5x6. One
page. Dated December 28, 1954. Letterhead from the Assembly of the
French Union. In Full: “Dear Sir,/ I received your letter asking for an
autograph. / I am glad to send you these few words with my signature,
loving so much your country”. Paul Legentilhomme (1884-1975)
served with the French Army in World War I and World War II. After
France was overrun by Germany, he joined the Free French. From 1952
to 1958, he was a prominent member of the UDSR political party.
Irregular cut. Adhered to another sheet cut in the same shape. Toned and
smudged. Otherwise, fine condition.
