PAUL LYNDE
Lynde signed this contract rider in 1968 with Yorkshire Productions, Inc. in order to set rehearsal and taping dates for an episode of Kraft Music Hall, in which Lynde was to appear as principal performer.
Contract signed: "Paul Lynde" in black ink. Also signed by unknown representative of Yorkshire Productions, Inc. 1 page, 8½x11. July 3, 1968. Contract rider between Lynde and Yorkshire Productions, setting rehearsal and taping dates for an episode of Kraft Music Hall. Lynde was to appear as principal performer on this program. In part: "Pursuant to our Agreement dated April 19, 1968 [not included], we hereby mutually agree that the first program thereunder shall be scheduled to be taped on August 30, 1968 and scheduled to be initially aired on October 9, 1968, Rehearsals will commence on or about August 24, 1968." Beginning with the 1963 Disney film Son of Flubber, comic actor Lynde (1926-1982, born in Mount Vernon, Ohio) played a series of movie character parts in which he made snide, cynical comments about everyone and everything. His notable performances include the long-suffering father in Broadway's Bye Bye Birdie and Uncle Arthur on TV's Bewitched. During the late 1970s, Lynde cultivated a fan following for his wisecracking appearances in the "center square" on the TV celebrity quizzer, Hollywood Squares. Lightly toned and creased. Signature of Yorkshire Productions representative has bled slightly. Staple holes near top left corner. Otherwise in fine condition.
