sometimes and directed throughout his career, Marzursky attained most fame as
a screenwriter. He was nominated for four Oscars for Best Writing with Bob
& Carol & Ted & Alice (1969), Harry and Tonto (1974),
An Unmarried Woman (1978) and Enemies: a Love Story (1989).
Other successful scripts by Mazursky include Moscow on the Hudson
(1984) and Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986). More recent films in
which he wore two hats as actor and director include Faithful (1996) and
Coast to Coast (2003). Mazursky's first screenplay was the pilot for
The Monkees TV series (1966). A familiar face on British TV adventure
series of the 1960s (Dr. Who. The Avengers), JOHN CATER
(1932-2009) has played supporting roles in many films since, often horror
movies. Recent appearances have included Goodnight Mister Tom (1998) and
Fogbound (2002). He also made many stage appearances with the Royal
Shakespeare Company. Irregular right edge. Otherwise, fine
