Newman", in blue ink, B/w 5x7. Nominated for eight Academy Awards for
Best Actor, Paul Newman (1925-2008) won the 1987 Oscar
for portraying Fast Eddie Felson in The Color of Money, the
same character he played in The Hustler 25 years earlier (also Oscar
nominated). His other nominated roles were Brick Pollitt in Cat on a Hot Tin
Roof (1958), Hud Bannon in Hud (1963), Lucas "Cool Hand" (Luke)
Jackson in Cool Hand Luke (1967), Michael Colin Gallagher in Absence
of Malice (1981), Frank Galvin in The Verdict (1982) and Donald
"Sully" Sullivan in Nobody's Perfect (1994). In 2003, he was nominated
for Best Supporting Actor as gangster John Rooney in Road to Perdition.
An auto racer and political activist, Newman was married to actress Joanne
Woodward for half a century until his death. All profits from his
Newman's Own line of food products were donated to charity. In a
survey of film experts for the British magazine, "Radio Times" in 2001,
Newman was voted the greatest movie actor of all time. Fine condition.
