PAUL SILAS The star basketball player who spent multiple season with a number of teams during his sixteen-season playing career signed this card in blue ink Signature: "Paul Silas" in blue ink. 5x3 card. Paul Silas (b. 1943) attended Creighton University from 1961-1964. He developed into an excellent rebounder with the team, averaging 20.6 boards a game in 1963. He set the NCAA three-season record for most rebounds. The St. Louis Hawks drafted him in the 2nd Round of the 1964 NBA Draft. Over the course of his 16 seasons of professional ball (1964-1980), he led the NBA in offensive rebounds once (1975-1976), was a two-time All-Star (1972, 1975) and won three championships (Boston Celtics 1974, 1976; Seattle Supersonics, 1979). Silas has also worked as a coach with the San Diego Clippers, Charlotte Hornets, New Orleans Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and most recently the Charlotte Bobcats. Pencil notations on verso in unknown hand. Lightly toned and creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
