Handwritten letter in French, arranging a meeting when he returns to Paris
Autograph Letter signed: "Paul Thomas", 1 page, 5½x7. La Rosaraie, Gagny, S. et O. [Seine et Oise], 1926 July 21. In French, fully translated: "Dear Sir - I received your letter in the country, where I am at this moment. I need to go to Paris after next Friday, and I will be at my studio 6 Rue de l'Abbaye, very happy if you can visit me there. Please accept dear sir my sincere regards". French painter and illustrator Paul Thomas wrote this letter from Gagny, near Paris, home of his brother in law and patron René Baschet, owner of the French art magazine l"Illustration. "La Rosaraie" is a rose garden and a common name for an inn or other residence. The French Department of Seine et Oise, formerly encompassing Paris suburbs, no longer exists. Normal mailing folds. Creased and toned. Pencil notes (blue pencil note in unknown hand on front overlapping portions of the letter, another on top edge, and one on verso). Otherwise, fine condition.
