Paul Hornung signs a color magazine cover of "Sport" magazine.

In 1963, Hornung, who was known for his love of the "good life", received a one-year suspension from football for gambling. Although Hornung accepted his punishment and refrained from implicating anyone else, he would later detail the prevalence of gambling in his 2004 autobiography, Golden Boy. Paul Hornung, who had won the 1956 Heisman Trophy while playing for Notre Dame, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1957. The multi-talented clutch player, who was at his best inside the 20-yard line, helped the Green Bay Packers win four NFL championships. Hornung was a two-time NFL Player of the Year (1960, 1961) and led NFL scorers for three years with a record 176 points in 1960. His career stats with the Packers (1957-1962, 1964-1966) include 3,711 yards rushing, 130 receptions and 760 points, including a record 19 points in the 1961 NFL title game. Hornung, who played in two Pro Bowls, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986. Lightly creased. ¼-inch tear at lower right edge, nicked at upper left edge.
