Paula Julie Abdul (b. 1962) is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, choreographer, and television personality. She was a cheerleader and dancer at an early age, going on to become a Los Angeles Lakers girl. Abdul started her career as an assistant dance director on the Jacksons' Victory tour that led to a job choreographing Janet Jackson's videos for her album, Control. Abdul's work on these videos made her a sought-after choreographer. She later scored a string of pop music hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Her six number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 tie her with Diana Ross for sixth among the female solo performers who have topped the chart. She won a Grammy for "Best Music Video - Short Form" for "Opposites Attract" and twice won the "Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography". Abdul was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December 1991. Fine condition.
