PAULA STONE (1912-1997), the daughter of stage actor Fred Stone, made her debut as part of a family act, The Stepping Stones, at age 12. After many touring theatrical roles, often with her father's company, Stone broke into films. She was featured opposite William Boyd in the first Hopalong Cassidy movie (1935), and starred in the Oscar-nominated The Girl Said No (1937). From World War II through the 1950s, she hosted Hollywood USA, an entertainment news and gossip show on radio. Actor CHARLES SALERNO (1907-1980), sometimes billed as Charles Salerno, Jr. in his early credits, was a movie camera operator who became director of photography on several films of the late 1940s, including Gentle Annie and Our Old Car. He also appeared on screen in a few character roles. AL MELNICK was a theatrical agent based in Beverly Hills. Cabaret singer Hildegarde Sell (1906-2005), known as "the Incomparable Hildegarde," kept a guest roster for signing by celebrities and fans at her performances, which continued into her 90s. Right edge ragged from previous binding. Toned. Ink show-through from both sides. Otherwise, fine condition.
