PAULINE CURLEY
Candid 4x6 photograph of the actress in her twilight years signed to
a fan with "Best Wishes"
Inscribed photograph signed: "To Clint,/Best Wishes,/Pauline
Curley", in blue ink, Color 4x6. Actress Pauline Curley (1903-2000)
began her acting career while still a child, being brought into vaudeville at
the age of 4 by her mother. She soon after began appearing in minor roles in
a number of silent films, mostly in orphan roles. As she grew older, her roles
began to mature as well, and she began seeing more promising work after
marrying cinematographer Kenneth Peach. Her most abundant roles were in
Westerns, which were becoming very popular during the 1920's. However, by the
late 1920's, Curley had retired from acting to raise her family. More memorable
films of Curley's include Life Without Soul (1915),
The Prairie Mystery (1922), and Pony Express Rider
(1926). Corners and edges slightly worn. Ink notes (unknown hand) on
verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
