Inscribed Photograph signed: "For/Elaine/all the best/to you/Peggy Converse" in
blue felt tip, 8x10. Primarily a stage actress, Peggy Converse (1906-2001) was
an actress and stage star who appeared on New York stages in the 1920s and
1930s, working thereafter in touring companies and summer stock. She played
supporting roles in several films, including Miss Sadie Thompson (1953) and
The Accidental Tourist (1988). Converse appeared in various television guest
roles on shows including Perry Mason (1957-1960) and The Ropers (1979). In
interviews later in life, she claimed she had performed on stage in every
major city in the United States and Canada. She was married to fellow actor
Don Porter for 50 years. Fine condition.
