PEGGY RYAN
She signs a color christmas card photograph of herself with her troupe of tap dancing business women
Christmas/Holiday Card Signed: "Peggy/Ryan/& her/TNT'S". Color, 7x4 overall, image 5½x4 (one surface). Photographic Christmas greeting from Peggy Ryan and her TNT Dancers, who performed in Donald O'Connor's live acts in Las Vegas (including his act at the former Dunes). Ryan later used the TNT name for a tap dancing troupe of businesswomen that she trained at her Las Vegas dance studio. Actress/dancer Peggy Ryan (1924-2004) made her film debut at the age of six in The Wedding of Jack and Jill (1930). Over the next 23 years, she appeared in a number of musical comedies, most notably with Donald O'Connor, and dramatic feature films and appeared O'Connor in USO tours during WWII. After leaving films, Ryan ran her own dance school and retired to Hawaii, where she occasionally appeared in the TV series, Hawaii 5-0, as Jack Lord's secretary. In the early 1980s, she moved to Las Vegas, where she taught tap dancing and produced reviews, teaching and performing until just days before she entered a hospital and died from the effects of two strokes at age 80. Ink lightly smudged at the "n" of Ryan. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
