WREN, a descendent of the famous 17th century architect, taught school in England and India, becoming a Captain in the Poona Volunteer Rifles during his years in India (1903-1917). He claimed to have served 5 years in the French Foreign Legion, though such service has not been verified. He returned to England to write adventure fiction, his best known novel being Beau Geste (1924), a tale of the French Foreign Legion. JEREMY TAYLOR was an Anglican Bishop and theologian who wrote The Rules and Exercises of Holy Living (1650) and The Rules and Exercises of Holy Dying (1651). Slightly creased. Vertical fold touches the "n" of Wren. 3 file holes at blank left margin.
