Laserdisc cover for Perfect, sign by Travolta and Curtis.
Perfect earned three Razzie nominations, including a Worst Actor
nomination for Travolta.
Laserdisc signed "Jamie Lee Curtis" and "John Travolta", both
in blue ink. Color, 12¼x12¼. Discs not included. Disc ©1985 RCA/Columbia
Pictures Home Video. Travolta and Curtis both starred in Perfect (1985), set in
a Los Angeles health club. Perfect was nominated for three Razzie Awards,
and including Worst Actor Razzie for Travolta, one of six for him as of this
biography. He lost out that year to Sylvester Stallone and his performance John
Rambo in Rambo: First Blood Part II, that finally snagged this backhanded
award in 2001 for Battlefield Earth. Stage, screen and television actor
TRAVOLTA, born in Englewood, New Jersey in 1954, received Academy
Award nominations for Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Pulp
Fiction (1994). Travolta, who first found fame as Vinnie Barbarino in
the TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter (1975-1977), became a cultural
phenomenon with the release of the films and soundtracks of Saturday
Night Fever and Grease (1978). His Urban Cowboy
(1980) gave as big a boost to country music as Saturday Night Fever had
for disco. Travolta's career seemed in decline in the 1980s, but big successes
in Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty (1995), Face/Off (1997)
and Swordfish (2002) heralded his return as a major American actor.
Travolta is also a licensed pilot and has written several books. He has been
married to actress Kelly Preston since 1991. The daughter of actors Tony Curtis
and Janet Leigh, CURTIS, born in Los Angeles, California in 1958, made
her first impression in a series of teen-oriented slasher movies, beginning with
Halloween (1978). She soon broke out of that niche, however, proving
herself a skillful and versatile actress in films like Trading Places
(1983), A Fish Called Wanda (1988), True Lies (1994) and The
Tailor of Panama (2001). Lightly creased and scuffed. Light impressions
on cover from disc. Otherwise in fine condition.
