PETE COSCARART - AUTOGRAPHED SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 283260
Sale Price $144.00
Signed photo, shown swinging a bat in Brooklyn Dodgers uniform
Photograph signed: "Pete Coscarart/38-41". B/w 8x10. Middle infielder Pete Coscarart (1913-2002) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1938-1941) and Pittsburgh Pirates (1942-1946). His was an All-Star in 1940. However, Coscarart was a few years too early as a player activist. His efforts to form a union and to encourage a player strike ended his playing career. Ironically, Major League baseball adopted a pension plan the following year, too late to benefit Coscarart, who was among 70 former players suing baseball unsuccessfully in 1996 for benefits and royalties. Fine condition.
