PETER BOGDANOVICH
Black and white publicity photograph of Peter Bogdanovich standing in the doorway.
Photograph signed: "Peter/Bogdanovich". B/w, 8x10. Originally a film critic, Peter Bogdanovich (born in 1939) emerged as a promising young director with two critical and commercial successes, The Last Picture Show (1971, for which he was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium and for a Golden Globe for Best Director - Motion Picture) and Paper Moon (1973, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Director - Motion Picture). A series of unsuccessful films, accompanied by marital and financial stresses, clouded his reputation later, but Bogdanovich showed he could still make good movies, releasing Saint Jack in 1979 and Mask in 1985. With fewer directorial opportunities, he returned to writing, and Bogdanovich also had some success as a supporting actor, notably in TV's The Sopranos (2000). Fine condition.
