Signature: “Peter De Polnay” in blue ink. 5¾x1. Peter De Polnay (1906-1984)
was a novelist who wrote dozens of books during his life. Born in Hungary,
De Polnay moved to the United Kingdom and was there during WWII. His
debut was the 1938 book Angry Man's Tale. Other publications include A
Letter to an Undertaker (1946), When Time is Dead (1955), and the
nonfiction Enfant Terrible (1969). His book The Chains of Pity (1975) was
turned into a film in 1977. The film was titled Julie Gluepot. Irregular cut.
