Photograph signed "Peter Firth". With pencil notations on verso in
unknown hand. B/w, 8x10 overall, 7½x9¼ image, one surface. Firth, born in
Bradford, Yorkshire, England in 1953, is a Tony and Oscar-nominated English
actor with over 80 movies and TV shows to his credit. Firth got his start on
British TV in 1969, but he made a name for himself by creating the role of Alan
Strang, a horse-mutilating stableboy, in the Broadway production of
Equus. The play ran for 1,209 performances between 1974 and 1977 and
earned Firth a Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Play. He reprised the
role of Stang in the 1977 film adaptation, for which he earned an Oscar
nomination. He went on to starring roles in Joseph Andrews (1977),
Tess (1979) and An Awfully Big Adventure (1994). He returned to TV
after an 11-year absence in The Young Indiana Chronicles and has been a
frequent guest star on numerous TV shows ever since. Lightly creased and
