The Broadway star and film choreographer signed this contract to appear on
Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall
Contract Signed: "Peter Gennaro" and"PG" 4 times. 8½x11- 2 p. contract with 9
p. rider, dated 1960 January 27, Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract with
Rancom Productions, Inc. for Gennaro's appearance on the Kraft Music Hall
1960 March 16. He was to be compensated $4000. for the appearance and an
additional $4000. for each replay. Also signed by Harvey B. Swindle for Rancom
Productions, Inc. Peter Gennaro (1919-2000) made his Broadway debut in
Make Mine Manhattan (1948), followed by Kiss Me, Kate (1948) and Guys and
Dolls (1950). By 1956 he was out of the chorus and into choreography in West
Side Story (1957). He won the Tony Award for Best Choreography in 1977 for
Annie. He was nominated for the award another four times. While most of his
fame came from Broadway, he worked steadily in television, choreographing for
programs such as the Kraft Music Hall (from 1967-1968) and Your Hit Parade
(in 1961). He appeared regularly on The Ed Sullivan Show throughout his
career, making his 33rd and final appearance in 1971. Gennaro also served for
many years as choreographer for Radio City Music Hall, staging for the
Rockettes. Multiple staple holes at upper left corner. Lightly creased and toned.
