Postcard Photograph signed: "Peter Ihnacak". B/w, 3½x5½. Peter Ihnacak, born in Slovakia in 1957, was denied permission to play for Czechoslovakia in the 1980 Winter Olympics because he was considered a risk to defect. These fears were proven correct in 1982 when he left the Czech World Championship team in Helsinki, Finland. He played for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League from 1982 to 1990, setting a team record for most points by a rookie, 66 (28 goals, 38 assists). He presently scouts for the Leafs in Europe. Corners lightly worn. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition.
