Lemongello", in purple ink, B/w 8½x11. Peter Lemongello (b.
1947) is a musician and singer most famously known for his television
marketing campaign for his hit album, Love '76. Beginning as a cabaret
singer, Lemongello developed the idea of creating an album exclusively sold
on t.v., beginning by targeting the New York area, and then moving to Los
Angeles and Las Vegas. The album was a great success and Lemongello was signed
onto a record company for his second album, Do I Love You, though the
record company went out of business shortly after the album's release. The topic
of his television campaign is often parodied, with Chevy Chase regularly
performing a skit where he was dubbed Peter Lemon Mood Ring. Pencil notes
