Typed Letter signed: "Peter Lupus", 1 page, 7¾x8¾ (Edges
irregularly cut, black background not part of the actual document). Phoenix,
Arizona, 1998 May 15. On letterhead of Karemor International, Inc., to
Charles Ankner, Port Charlotte, Florida. In full: "I appreciate
receiving letters from fans like you who have followed me through my career.
Working on 'Mission Impossible' was a wonderful part of my life and I made some
lifelong friends working so closely with such a tremendous cast. Per your
request, I am enclosing, the cards you sent and an autographed photo for your
enjoyment. [Items not included.] Thank you again for your letter. Stay
healthy and you will live a long and happy life! Sincerely". Peter Lupus
(b. 1932), a bodybuilding champion (Mr. Indiana, Mr. Hercules)
and the oldest man to press 300 pounds, is best remembered as Willy Armitage
in the TV series Mission Impossible (1966-1973). He has made frequent
supporting appearances in stage and film roles since. At age 75, Lupus set a
new world endurance record by pressing 77,560 pounds in a span of 25
minutes. One horizontal fold crease through center. Otherwise fine
condition.
