PETER PALMERHe pens a note for a fan discussing the show Lorelei Autograph Note Unsigned, 1p, 7¼x10½. No place, no date. To "Dear Paul". In full: "Both my wife and I are in Carol Channing (sic) new show Lorellia (sic)". Lorelei, with music by Jule Styne, was a sequel to the musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. It debuted on January 27, 1974 and ran through November 3, 1974 at the Palace Theatre on Broadway. Carol Channing, who starred as Lorelei Lee, was nominated for a 1974 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.Palmer played Gus Esmond; his wife, Aniko Farrell, was featured as a pheasant and a bridesmaid and was in the ensemble. Stage and screen actor/cinematographer Peter Palmer (1931-2021), starred in the title role in the Broadway production of Li'l Abner (1956-1958) and reprised his role in the film version in 1959. Palmer, who also appeared in the Broadway production of Brigadoon (1963), also acted in feature films, including Deep Space (1987) and Edward Scissorhands (1990), and was the cinematographer on 1989's Hellgate.
