PETER BABANDO
A pair of the hockey star's game-worn hockey skates that's signed on one of the blade guards
Hockey Skates signed: "Peter Babando". Game-worn black leather C.C.M. brand skates, Size 7½, with white laces, signed boldly in black sharpie on the inside of the left skate guard. Peter "Pete" Babando (b. 1925) wasone of the few American-born players in the National Hockey League in his time. In a professional hockey career extending from 1945 to 1967, Babando played for the Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks and New York Rangers, but is best remembered for his Cup-clinching goal in the second overtime in Game Seven of the 1950 Stanley Cup Finals for the Detroit Red Wings. In six NHL seasons, Babando scored 86 goals and notched 73 assists, but his hockey career did not end there. He continued to excel in other leagues, playing his six final seasons for the Clinton (N.Y.) Comets, who dominated the Eastern Hockey League during his years on the ice for them. Leather is scuffed and worn from normal use, but there are no holes. Finish on the blade guards is worn and chipped, again as expected from normal use, and the signature is unaffected. Otherwise, fine condition.
