B/w, 5¼x7¼. Photo affixed to cardstock. Petr Svoboda (b. 1966) is a
retired NHL player, playing for 20 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens
(1984-19920, Buffalo Sabres (1991-1995), Philadelphia Flyers (1994-1999), and
the Tampa Bay Lightning (1998-2001). He played over 1,000 games in his 17
year career, the first player of Czech descent to do so in the NHL. Svoboda
had participated in the Under-18 ice hockey championships in West Germany in
1984, but moved to the west after playing only one game, wanting to play at a
more professional level. That same year, he was drafted by the Montreal
Candiens. High points of his career include winning a Stanley Cup with
the Canadiens in 1986, and winning gold as a member of the Czech ice hockey team
at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Japan. Most recently, he works as a sports
agent in California. Lightly creased from adhesive. Lightly toned. Otherwise,
fine condition.
