PETULA CLARK
A black and white photograph of the singer glancing over her
shoulders
Photograph signed: "Love/Petula/Clark/'84". B/w, 8x9¾. Name
imprinted at lower margin. A child star in Britain during and after WWII,
Petula Clark (b. 1932) was "discovered" by American audiences thanks to her 1965
hit recording "Downtown," which led to other song smashes such as "Don't Sleep
in the Subway" and "I Know a Place". Clark, who appeared in the musical
films Finian's Rainbow (1968) and Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1969),
returned to films in the child-oriented confection, Never Never Land
(1980). In the early 1990s, she starred on Broadway in the musical Blood
Brothers. Slightly creased at blank margins, minor surface creases (not
evident head on). Black mark at upper right corner. Fine
condition.
