PHIL ESPOSITO
Phil Esposito signs a piece of paper in red ink.
Signature: "Phil Esposito", 3½x3¾ piece of paper.
Esposito, the 6'1" and 205 pound center, broke into the NHL with the Chicago
Blackhawks. Esposito played four seasons with the Blackhawks before being traded
to Boston in 1967. He became the first player in NHL history to reach the
"Century Mark" when he scored 49 goals and added 77 helpers for 126 points
during the 1968-69 season. As a Bruin, Esposito led the NHL in goal
scoring four times, including his unfathomable 76 goals in 78 games during the
1970-71 campaign. The following two years he followed up with 66 and 55
goals, leading the league with both totals. Esposito also helped lead the Bruins
to two Stanley Cup championships before being traded to the Rangers in 1975.
Esposito, while past his prime with the Rangers, was still an effective goal
scorer and physical presence. Irregular cut edges. Lightly soiled at right
margin. Signature faint but legible. Otherwise, fine
condition.
