EDDIE GIACOMIN and PHIL ESPOSITO
This is a great 13x10 color action shot of one Hall of Famer shooting on another - Esposito of the Class of 1984 in Bruins colors taking a shot on Ranger and 1987 Hall of Famer Giacomin. It's signed by both Esposito and "'H. O. F. - 87'" by Giacomin. Matted in white and gold to 15x18.
Photograph signed: "Ed. Giacomin/'H. O. F. - 87'" and "Phil/Esposito" in gold ink. Color, 13x10 visible in 14¾x17¾ white-and- gold-matte. EDDIE GIACOMIN was one of hockey's great goaltenders during his illustrious 13-year career. He spent 11 seasons (1965-66 to 1975-76) with New York, putting an indelible mark on the club's record book. He registered 266 wins, 169 losses, 90 ties and 49 shutouts along with a 2.73 goals-against average in 539 career matches. He is the Ranger's all-time leader in wins (266) and shutouts (49). Only Gump Worsley has tended the Rangers' nets in more games than Giacomin's 539 career matches. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987. PHIL ESPOSITO, the 6'1" and 205 pound center, broke into the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks. Esposito played 4 seasons with the Blackhawks before being traded to Boston in 1967. He became the first player in NHL history to reach the "Century Mark" when he scored 49 goals and added 77 helpers for 126 points during the 1968-69 season. As a Bruin, Esposito led the NHL in goal scoring four times, including his unfathomable 76 goals in 78 games during the 1970-71 campaign. The following two years he followed up with 66 and 55 goals, leading the league with both totals. Esposito also helped lead the Bruins to two Stanley Cup championships before being traded to the Rangers in 1975. Esposito, while past his prime with the Rangers, was still an effective goal scorer and physical presence. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984. Fine condition. Matted, not in Gallery of History style. Not reviewed by us for conservation integrity. "As is" matting purchase.
