PHIL FOSTER
He signs an autograph note in Brooklynese: "I'm witcha."
Autograph Note signed: "He/George/'I'm witcha'/Phil Foster", 5¼x7¾. Ink caption (unknown hand) at lower edge includes date: February 10, 1978. Phil Foster (1914-1985) was a popular nightclub comic whose monologues often recalled his childhood in Brooklyn. He appeared several times each on TV with Ed Sullivan (1957-1962) and Johnny Carson (1971-1972), but is probably best remembered as FrankDeFazio, Laverne's father on Laverne & Shirley (1976-1983). Jagged at left edge from book removal. Mounting remnants on verso (light show-through). Ink note (unknown hand) at bottom margin.
