Inscribed album leaf signed: "To Penny/Phil Regan". Also "Phil Regan - Singer - 176130" in unknown hand. 6x4½ . Regan (1906-1996) was a New York City police detective whose outstanding voice earned him a place in film. He starred in Republic Pictures musicals of the 1930s and later hosted The Phil Regan Armed Forces Show on radio (1951). He also supported fellow actor Ronald Reagan in his successful 1966 campaign against Edmund "Pat" Brown. In 1972, he was sentenced to two years in jail for attempting to bribe Santa Barbara, California officials on behalf of a developer. Lightly toned, line of perforations on left hand side. Otherwise in fine condition.
