Autograph Note signed: "Phil Silvers", 1p, 8½x11. In full:
"All you children are very specially [sic] and Mr Bean loves you
as I do.". Former vaudeville and burlesque performer Phil Silvers
(1911-1985) starred in film comedies from the early 1940s, but his big
successes came on TV and on stage. Television viewers will remember him best as
Sergeant Bilko, winner of five Emmys in the sitcom You'll Never Get
Rich (1955-1959). His Broadway successes include Yokel Boy
(1939), High Button Shoes (1947), Top Banana (1950, which won
him a Tony), Do Re Mi (1960), and a revival of A Funny Thing
Happened On the Way To the Forum (1971, and his second Tony). Horizontal
folds. Fine condition.
