Thanking an admirer of his paintings, he regrets that he can only sell them through his
agents.
Autograph Letter signed: "Philip Jamison", 1 page, 7¼x10½. West Chester, Pennsylvania,
1970 April 29. On personal letterhead to "Dear Mrs. Matison", in full: "I wish to thank you so
much for your very kind words. I am most happy that you find my paintings so pleasing. As much
as I would like to comply with your request I feel that I cannot do so. I sell all my work thru my
agents. At one time I also used to sell my own work but because of my specific gallery affiliations
and relationships I felt it necessary to deal only thru them. I hope you understand. Thank you just
the same for your interest. Sincerely". American realist painter Philip Jamison (1925-2021) has
been widely exhibited, and part of the permanent collections of museums such as New York's
Metropolitan, Boston's Museum of Fine Arts, and the National Air and Space Museum. In
1975 he was chosen by NASA to paint impressions of the Apollo-Soyuz space launch. He has
written two books: Capturing Nature in Watercolor (1980) and Make Your Paintings Work
