Levine (1928-2015) was an American poet who won a 1995 Pulitzer Prize for
Poetry for his book The Simple Truth. Levine was born to Russian
Jewish parents in Detroit, the home of fascist and anti-Semitic Catholic priest
Father Charles Coughlin. He began writing poetry while going to night school at
Wayne State University while working at car plants. His poetry, which spans
14 volumes from 1963 to 2004, reflects his anti-fascist and anarchist
philosophies as well as the struggles and misery of working life and people.
Lightly toned, blue ink stains in lower right corner. Page is neatly torn on
left from a larger sheet. Otherwise, fine condition.
