PHILLIP TERRY. Photograph inscribed and signed: "Eugene/Thanks
for/your continued/loyalty/Phillip Terry/4th April 1967". B/w, 8x10. Phillip
Terry (born Frederick Korman in 1907), made his film debut in 1937, the year he
appeared in Mannequin, starring Joan Crawford, whom he would marry in
1942 (Terry was the actress' third husband). The previous year, Terry had
received good notices for The Parson of Panamint, and he would again
receive acclaim for his role as Wick Birman, the straight-laced brother of
alcoholic Ray Milland, in The Lost Weekend (1945, the year before he
and Crawford were amicably divorced). His film credits also include Boys
Town (1938), The Young Dr. Kildare (1938), Calling Dr. Kildare
(1939), Wake Island (1942), Bataan (1943) and The Navy vs. the
Night Monsters (1966, his last film). Slightly nicked on right edge, else
fine condition.
